General Notes: Was imprisoned at Ft. Pickens early in the Civil War because we would not take the Federal oath. His letters to his wife and children were published, "Kiss the Children for Father" by Merritt Lee Nickinson in the 1980's. Lucius married "Lizzie" Elizabeth Harriet MCGAUGHY, daughter of Unknown and Jane McGAUGHY, on 4 Nov 1852 in New O rleans, LA. ("Lizzie" Elizabeth Harriet MCGAUGHY was born on 27 Feb 1830 in Kingston, ONT, Canada, died on 17 Dec 1868 in New Orleans and was buried in St. Michaels Cemetary, P-Cola, FL.) Lucius next married Emily Susan BELL on 28 Dec 1871 in Pensacola, FL. (Emily Susan BELL was born on 25 Apr 1892 in Kells County, Menthe Ireland and died on 24 Sep 1922 in Pensacola FL.) |
